Juicy delicious burgers. This recipe makes 4 1/3 lb burgers.
Preperation
1 hour before you want to eatStart by dicing up the jalapeño. Then in a large mixing combine the ground meat, cheddar, diced jalapeño, egg and spices.
Using a food scale or eyeballing it, split up the meat into 4 burgers (with the addition of the egg, cheese and spices it'll create about 1/3 lb patties).
If you are prepping the burgers far in advance then use the aluminium foil to wrap the burger patties and place them either in the fridge or freezer.
50 minutes before you want to eatIf you prepped your burgers far in advance then take them out of the refridgerator to allow them to warm.
20 minutes before you want to eatPreheat your grill to 375 degrees.
14 minutes before you want to eatMake sure to put a indent in the middle of each burger patty with your thumb. That will prevent the burger from warping while on the grill.
Place the burgers on the grill, personally I place them over direct heat but the flame is very low, let the temperature of the grill cook the burger more than the fire char the burger.
Note: Do not. I repeat DO NOT press on the burger with the spatula, that'll press out all the delicious juices that keep a burger moist.
10 minutes before you want to eatFlip the burgers, place the sliced cheese on the burger. Place the bun on the warming rack.
5 minutes before you want to eatTake the burgers off the grill, tent them with aluminium foil. Take the buns off the grill. At this point while letting the burgers re-absorb their delicious jucies I would take the bun and put spread on it and also the other fixins you may want (lettuce, tomato, onion).
The moment you have been waiting for!Time to feast!
