Greek taco twist. Take out the cucumber and tomato and add in peppers for a crisp and unique taco!
Preperation
30 minutes before you want to eatTake the red onion and slice it in half. For one half chop up the onion in 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch cuts. The second half chop up the onion in 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch cuts.
Chop up the peppers into 1/4 by 1/4 in cuts.
20 minutes before you want to eatHeat up about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan on the stove top. Once it is heated up for a couple minutes add all the ground turkey to the pan for it to start to brown, using your spatula break up the meat.
After a couple minutes and while the turkey is still cooking add in the 2 cups of chicken broth and the cup of tomato sauce, also add 1/4 in by 1/2 in chopped onion. Gradually the broth and sauce will be absorbed into the cooking meat, making it very flavorful.
Keep flipping and stirring this on the stove top until the broth and sauce has reduced and it no longer has a lot of liquid.
8 minutes before you want to eatOn another burner on the stovetop heat up the griddle (you can also use another frying pan if you don't have a griddle) and start to heat up the pita bread. Two tacos per person seems like a good amount of food to my fiancée and I (probably takes about 4 mins to heat up 2 tacos). Ensure that you flip the flatbread to not let it burn on either side.
The moment you have been waiting for!Take the flatbread, add on a portion of the meat. Top it with the peppers, red onion, cilantro, feta. Drizzle white sauce and Sriracha over it all and dive in! Have a fork nearby to be able to eat the overflow on the plate from the taco!
