Preperation
1 hour 10 minutes before you want to eatBoil water. I didn't put an exact amount, instead I added a ratio. What that means is that for every 1 cup of rice, add in 2 1/4 cups of water. I added a handy chart to help with general sizes.
Rice | Water --- | --- 1/2 cup | 1 1/8 cups 1 cup | 2 1/4 cups 1 1/2 cups | 3 3/8 cups 2 cups | 4 1/2 cups 3 cups | 6 3/4 cups
1 hour before you want to eatTurn the pot to simmer, add the rice then cover with the lid. You want boiling water to cool and slowly seep into the rice. Don't worry that this seems like a long time, the rice acts as a good insulator of keeping the water warm.
DO NOT LIFT THE LID AT ANY POINT.
15 minutes before you want to eatTurn off the heat. ONCE AGAIN, DO NOT LIFT THE LID.
The moment you have been waiting for!Time to feast! I cook the rice without salt and would add it now if needed.
Would be a great side for
